Thank you to everyone who attended the APHA AGM on last Saturday and also to those who voted on the new Board of Directors and the Constitutional amendments.

Brief Summary of the AGM

After an initial introduction, housekeeping and confirmation that the obligatory quorum of members were in attendance, John Moynihan, acting Chair of APHA, presented the Board’s Report for 2016/17. Please find a copy of the presentation in pdf here. The association is in very healthy position with all indicators showing positive increases which is confirmation that it is now set for further expansion in the coming years. Your support and membership will make that happen. Following the presentation, the results of the vote were made known and they are as follows:

1. APHA’s Constitutional Change to extend directors terms to two years was passed with 79% of voting members supporting the proposal.

2. The new Board will be made of the following eight directors:

General business proposed that consideration be given to a number of minor amendments to the constitution and the structure of the committee system and they will be one of the first agenda items for the incoming board. We thank the members for presenting these positive changes.
