Retrofit with Passive House components
Energy standards for building renovation prescribed by national regulations often fall short of what is possible and necessary for curbing climate change. […] In this situation, voluntary energy standards like the Passive House standard can give orientation to building owners who are motivated to go beyond the legal requirements.”
Using five international EnerPHit examples, a new paper from Springer Nature journal, Energy Efficiency, discovers how very high-predicted energy savings were achieved, how deep energy retrofits to EnerPHit standard can live up to high aesthetic standards, and how effective the thorough quality assurance process of the EnerPHit or Passive House certification is.
