Certified Passive House Tradesperson Online Course
In this course you will gain the foundation Passive House Tradesperson knowledge necessary to prepare you to tackle your first Passive House project, as well as write the Certified Passive House Tradesperson exam.
A PHI Certified Passive House Tradesperson (CPHT) is equipped to implement the Passive House building standard. They have passed the accreditation exam issued by the international Passive House Institute, and they are in a unique position to work with design teams that have targeted Passive House certification as a project goal. A current list of CPHTs is maintained on the PHI website, and - upon passing the exam - the credential is valid for 5 years, at which point the Tradesperson must demonstrate use of Passive House skills in their project portfolio.
What is this course?
It is a self-paced, on-demand CPHT course with live, online Trainer Q&A sessions, designed to help builders, contractors, and tradespeople prepare for the CPHT exam and learn the advanced building science skills of the Passive House standard.
What is the format?
One year access to the on-demand course content (accompanied by a printed manual), plus 7 weekly, one-hour, live, online Q&A sessions with our expert Trainer. Enrolment in an online Crew will determine your live session schedule.
Each student will gain free registration to our practical training days that will be scheduled throughout 2021, once we can safely hold in-person training. We believe hands-on training is essential to build the right capacity in our market and you will be taught the essential construction techniques in either a workshop or on-site environment. Currently training will be held in Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide with other states about to be added.

Continuing Professional Development
The Certified Tradesperson Course relates to the NSW Home Building Act 1989 Commissioner guidelines for continuing professional development (CPD). Continuing professional development training and education must relate to at least one of the learning areas set out in this document. These broad learning areas may be based on, but not limited to, elements or outcomes of the relevant units of competency. The Passive House Tradesperson Course is based on:
